You got the first survey and didn’t answer it so we sent you another one.

A while ago I wrote about a survey the RNC sent me. I wanted to do my American duty so I posted the survey online for anybody to read.  I then proceeded to point out several pieces of rhetoric that I found laughable.  I guess they don’t read my blog because they sent me another survey.  They changed a few things this time, the story is the same though.

I don’t have time or energy to go over all of the questions but here are two that I wanted to share (with my responses)

Question 1. Do you agree with Barack Obama’s budget plan that will lead to a $23.1 trillion deficit over the next ten years?

Hmm.. This is a tough one, do I agree with a Barack Obama’s budget? I really can’t tell you I haven’t read it, but that number 23.1 trillion is big and it scares me so even though I haven’t read the budget, I have no clue what the republican budget is and my brain isn’t capable of understanding numbers as big as a billion let alone a trillion I’m going to have to say “No” I don’t agree with his budget. I know I’m only using a single point of data to decide the budget for the wealthiest country in the world, I feel like its okay to think this way, after all the RNC wouldn’t be trying to lead me astray…

Question 2. Are you confident that new medicines and medical treatments will continue to be developed if the federal government controls prescription drug prices and set profit margins for research and pharmaceutical companies?

This one is easy, NO, government regulation is BAD! I don’t care about the millions of scientists who are doing research because they care about science and want to help people. The only science getting done that helps people is done by those with a vested financial interest in what they are doing.  Also companies need to set their own profit margins.  If they aren’t making enough profit then they aren’t making money.

Just in case it wasn’t obvious I was being extremely sarcastic in those responses. Now back to reality…

These letters really bug me, they demonstrate exactly what is wrong with politics (parties pushing fear and not ideas). This letter was obviously designed to scare people into running from the Democratic party.

The Republican party is weak and instead of trying to develop a political agenda they are spending all their timetrying to destroy the Democrats and retake Washington.  So RNC if you’re reading this stop sending me inflammatory letters, instead contact me, talk to me, ask me what I care about and then start fighting for the issues that I care about. I’m sorry to break it to you but the “Ole boys club” that was the GOP died with President Bush, and it died because the country got sick of the GOP antics.

So RNC, please start thinking, start connection, start working and maybe, just maybe, when I’m convinced you’re working on real issues I care about I’ll answer your stupid surveys.
